With your support, I will make sure our voices are carried into the Senedd.

I am standing to be your representative in the Senedd because I believe our communities deserve a strong and compassionate voice that will always listen and take action. My years of working alongside local people have shown me the importance of fairness, opportunity, and building a better future for Fflint Wrecsam.

If elected, I will be a visible and approachable representative, always listening to constituents, reaching out to understand what matters most, and ensuring those concerns are heard. I will use my role to highlight gaps in services, work closely with local leaders, businesses, and employers, and advocate for the changes our communities need. My career has shown me how powerful it can be when people are truly listened to and given the chance to shape decisions.

2025 National Labour Conference - Liverpool

Being at the Labour conference in Liverpool and hearing Eluned Morgan's speech was truly inspiring, providing a much-needed injection of purpose and clarity for the movement in Wales. The First Minister spoke with passion and directness, not shying away from the difficult electoral challenges ahead, but instead framing them as a call to action.

The electricity in the conference hall was incredible, making Eluned Morgan's speech a truly exhilarating moment. Looking back at the clip above, which captures the infectious energy from the floor, perfectly reminds me of the solidarity we shared. As a Welsh Labour member, standing shoulder-to-shoulder with comrades from across the country was a powerful and unifying experience that affirmed our shared purpose.

Her determination to pursue a "red Welsh way," focusing on social justice priorities like the NHS, jobs, and social housing, resonated deeply, painting a picture of a stable and compassionate government contrasting sharply with the 'chaos' she warned would follow a victory for Plaid Cymru or Reform UK. It was a powerful reminder of the values that underpin the party and the vital work needed to secure a fairer future for every community in Wales.

Politics has always been part of my life

I believe in not just talking about change, but working to make it happen. My long career in Social Work has given me a deeper understanding of how society works. The Labour values of fairness, solidarity, and strong communities have shaped my path ever since. That career has also taught me the importance of speaking up when decisions are wrong or unjust. I have developed the skills to challenge unfair decisions, push for fairer outcomes, and ensure that people get the support they need. Those experiences have strengthened my determination to stand up for others and to work for change that truly improves lives.

Rooted in Fflint Wrecsam

I have lived in Flint for many years and worked across both Fflint Wrecsam, standing alongside families and communities to tackle the issues that matter most. I met my husband, Russ, while at college, and we were married in his hometown of Wrexham, where many of our family members still live. When Russ qualified as a teacher, we moved to Flint and made our home in a rented property, where we went on to raise our son and daughter, who were both born, educated, and brought up here.
My decision to stand for the Senedd comes from that experience and from the deep personal ties I have to this constituency.

A career dedicated to care and dignity

In their latter years, my parents were able to move into an adapted bungalow, which allowed them to maintain dignity and independence for longer. My dad spent his final years in a care home in Hawarden before passing away in Deeside Hospital, while my mum continued to live at home with the support of a care package. During that time, I balanced work, parenting and caring responsibilities. I saw firsthand how essential good support is for families. When her health declined, my mum received compassionate, high-quality end-of-life care at Wrexham Maelor Hospital. I will always be grateful to the NHS staff who looked after mum with such respect and professionalism.

My experience has strengthened my belief in the value of the NHS, not just as a service, but as a lifeline. We must protect it, invest in it, and ensure it can continue to provide excellent care for every family who needs it.

A personal bond with the constituency

My connection to this area is deep and lasting. I met my husband, Russ, at college, and we were married in his hometown of Wrexham. We later settled in Flint, where we raised our two children. My parents lived in social housing here until their passing, and during those years, I balanced work with being both a parent and a carer. I know first-hand the vital role carers play and why their contribution must be valued.

Shaped by the workplace

My working life began in a textile mill, where I quickly saw both the strength and the struggles of working people. The sense of community among colleagues was strong—generations working side by side, looking out for one another—but without union representation, their voices were too often ignored and their rights left unprotected. That experience stayed with me and shaped my values. I realised how important it is for workers to have someone to speak up for them, to bring people together, and to fight for fairness in the workplace. From those early days I became active in organising, listening to colleagues, and standing up for their concerns. This was the beginning of my lifelong commitment to trade unionism, a journey that eventually led me to become Chair of the Flintshire County UNISON Branch, representing and advocating for workers across our community.

Ready to represent you in the Senedd

My life has been shaped by listening, standing up for others, and fighting for fairness. I want to take that same commitment to the Senedd, bringing a strong, compassionate, and experienced voice for Flintshire and Wrexham. I will always listen, always fight for fairness, and always put our communities first.
